Cortland Apple
Malus domestica 'Cortland'
Cortland apples are a McIntosh variety and one of few self-pollinating apple trees. They produce an abundance of sweet, tart apples. Their skin is ruby red and unlike many apples they are slow to turn brown once sliced. Our semi-dwarf variety bears fruit in 3-4 years. Cortland is self-fertile but fruiting is better if there is a compatible partner of a different variety nearby. Pollinators include Gala, Fuji and Granny Smith.
