The Bald Cypress (Taxodium distichum) is a majestic deciduous conifer that thrives in wet and well-drained areas. Native to the southeastern US swamps and waterways, it adapts well to various landscapes. Standing tall and reaching up to 150 feet at maturity, the bald cypress offers a stately presence. Its pyramidal shape fills out over time, casting a wide shade. Interestingly, some bald cypress trees develop “knees” – woody protrusions from the roots that help with oxygen intake in swampy conditions.

Bald Cypress is a low-maintenance landscaping choice. It tolerates various soil conditions and requires minimal care once established. Plus, it boasts beautiful fall foliage, transforming from green to fiery orange and red tones before dropping its needles. Due to its adaptability, the Bald Cypress can be a focal point in many landscapes. Plant it near ponds or other water features to mimic its natural habitat or utilize its wind resistance in exposed areas.

2 bald cypress trees
Trees came thru in perfect health! What really got me was how they were packed nice neat little burlap sacks and a Piece of bamboo to prevent them from getting snapped in half. Root ball was nice and damp!

Love the way they look so far
Put them in the ground hours after they arrived. Wish I would’ve gotten them a little bigger but we marked them well and have been keeping them watered in our drought. They look like they are getting established well and we are hoping they will be the addition to our landscape that we envisioned
